(3.6cm tall by 7.7cm long) This bear is special. I have literally no idea how the white mark / slight dent on its left side occurred; it doesn't fit any normal patterns of glaze disturbance and I really can't work it out. But I think this friend has come here to teach us that we're all beautiful, scars and all, and that what we've been through doesn't make us any less perfect or loveable. Scars are part of who we are, and they show we're living.
This bear statue is made from stoneware clay and has been fired once, glazed, and then raku fired for the amazing gifts of smoke and flame.
A white bear has been a part of my life for many years (along with kitsune, of course!), and I feel honoured to be able to help their spirits — in all colours — manifest in our world.
Through my work, I hope to bring a little nature, peace, gentleness, and spirit to the world. I make all of my pieces entirely by hand with natural materials.
