(2.6cm tall, 3.2 with wire hoop) This kind, gentle, and loving little Jizo friend feel so full of gentle acceptance and joy. I feel like he would be a lovely friend on those more difficult days, just as a reminder of the good in the world when it's hard to see.
This Jizo made of stoneware clay, fired once, glazed in non-toxic glaze, and then raku fired for the beautiful effects of smoke and flame. He has a metal hoop in his head that would allow him to be hung or carried.
Jizo is a Japanese Shinto spirit, a kami who found his way to Japan through Buddhism. He is a guardian of women, children, and travellers; he comforts us through grief and bereavement.
Through my work, I hope to bring a little nature, peace, and gentleness into the world. I make all of my pieces entirely by hand with natural materials.
(I am happy to combine postage on all items. Please either message me before you order and I can create a custom listing, or just order and I'll refund any excess postage fees. Thank you!)
