Jizo is strung on a strong, natural flax cord with an adjustable, sliding knot closure and hangs by a fireproof metal loop that's very secure. The flax itself is handspun and naturally waxed. The pendant is made of stoneware, glazed in non-toxic glaze, and raku fired with natural wood shavings for the amazing gifts of smoke and flame.
**Please note that the knots in the flax cord are sealed with natural, ecological latex glue. If you have a latex allergy, please contact me before you place your order, and I will make another cord sealed with synthetic glue for you.**

Jizo is a Japanese Shinto spirit, a kami who found his way to Japan through Buddhism. He is a guardian of women, children, and travellers; he comforts us through grief and bereavement.
Through my work, I hope to bring a little nature, peace, and gentleness into the world. I make all of my pieces entirely by hand with only non-toxic material.
