(4.5cm tall) Here is a gentle and loving Jizo spirit for when you just need a friend and a hug.
Please note that there are several small white glaze disturbance marks on the back of its head. They don't have any consequence other than aesthetic, but Jizo and I both thought you should know. You can see them in the final image.
This Jizo made of stoneware clay, fired once, glazed in non-toxic glaze, and then raku fired. But unlike my normal pieces, this one never saw fire. It was just removed from the kiln at 1000° and left to cool naturally.
Jizo is a Japanese Shinto spirit, a kami who found his way to Japan through Buddhism. He is a guardian of women, children, and travellers; he comforts us through grief and bereavement.
Through my work, I hope to bring a little nature, peace, and gentleness into the world. I make all of my pieces entirely by hand with natural materials.
(I am happy to combine postage on all items. Please either message me before you order and I can create a custom listing, or just order and I'll refund any excess postage fees. Thank you!)
