(4.3cm tall) Here is a quiet kodama kami full of the magic of rain and midnight. It feels wistful to me, like it remembers a time when we still paid attention to those gentle magics. I think it hopes to help us find them again. And it's extra special because it's rain raku itself. Those little spiderweb patterns in the glaze are where raindrops fell on the sculpture when the glaze was still vitrifying. Natural magic.
It has been fired once, glazed, and then raku fired with natural wood shavings for the amazing effects of smoke and flame.
Through my work, I hope to bring a little nature, peace, and gentleness into the world. I make all of my pieces entirely by hand with only natural materials.
