(7.0cm tall, ~5.6cm diameter) This pumpkin kami spirit is special. He has a strong presence ... he's very quiet and reserved but quite intense and serious too. He feels magical and not entirely of this world ... almost like he comes from a more real version of our reality. He pulls my attention to him and makes me remember that there's more to life than this ...
And a note: the photos here don't match, as you can see. This friend is extremely difficult to photograph, and as I wasn't happy with the original batch (the ones all on wood), I tried again. But I only got one useable image from that attempt! So I guess there will just have to be a mix.
This pumpkin spirit is made of stoneware, glazed in non-toxic glaze, and raku fired for the amazing gifts of fire and smoke.
Through my work, I hope to bring a little nature, peace, and gentleness into the world. I make all of my pieces entirely by hand with only non-toxic materials.
