Spirit of winter, ice, & snow guardian kami raku sculpture | Shinto, shamanism

(7cm tall) This kind, gentle spirit is a kami being of winter, of ice and snow and grey days. She is I think a guardian and guide, someone who can help us through those difficult months with care and nurturing. She can show us, I think, that we need to remember to care for and nurture ourselves. And appreciate the season for all its amazing beauty.

This winter spirit is made of stoneware, glazed in non-toxic glaze, and raku fired for the amazing gifts of fire and smoke.

Through my work, I hope to bring a little nature, peace, and gentleness into the world. I make all of my pieces entirely by hand with only non-toxic material.
