A tree house! Here's a gentle spirit cottage with its very own tree roof. I hope it can help bring some quiet nature and wildness back into the human world and remind us that trees are just amazing. It's carved in the kurinuki technique and glazed with a special glaze recipe for these particular rustic crackle effects.
The base of the house is 5.7cm long x 5.7cm wide and around 4.1cm tall. With the roof on, the whole thing is approximately 13.5cm tall. The roof overhangs the house by a few millimetres on all sides. The chimney has a hole in it, and the roof lifts off easily.
This spirit cottage is made of stoneware, glazed with non-toxic glaze, and raku fired for the beautiful effects of flame and smoke.
Through my work, I hope to bring a little nature, peace, gentleness, and spirit to the world. I make all of my pieces entirely by hand with natural materials.
