(4.3cm tall) Here is another beautiful kodama tree and forest spirit guardian sculpture. It carries a seriousness with it and feels very powerful to me, full of nature magic and strength. It does not understand the human world, but then why would it? The human world is not very understandable these days. I think it wants to help us reconnect to nature and a truer reality.

This kodama is made of stoneware, glazed in a beautiful blue-green lead-free glaze with a hint of copper, and raku fired for the magical effects of fire and smoke. Please note that the copper on this piece will tarnish over time but can be gently polished with a copper-cleaning cloth. It may also change or fade, especially if the piece is exposed to direct sunlight. One sculptor calls copper glazes "living glazes", because they age along with the piece. It won't make the piece any less beautiful, it will just make it different! (While some artists choose to varnish their copper pieces with a polymer (plastic) protective layer, I avoid this due to its environmental impact.)

Through my work, I hope to bring a little nature, peace, and gentleness into the world. I make all of my pieces entirely by hand with natural materials.
